This tour takes place in an area of the Laurel Forest - a UNESCO “Natural World Heritage, where you can find traces of a primitive ecosystem that has resisted five centuries of human influence.
Forest is predominant with beautiful waterfalls and valleys. The different microhabitats in this course allows you to observe the biodiversity of plant of the island, finding examples of different trees of the Lauraceae family, but also a large number of unique plants and ferns of Madeira.
In this area, due to the rate of habitat preservation, it is possible to observe evolutionary evidence which determines specific characteristics of the vegetation on oceanic islands.
